Choose Wisely

I am so honored to introduce to you my guest writer and sister-in-law Melissa Rosario. She is a wife and a mother of two beautiful girls and has recently  accepted Gods calling alongside my brother Hiram Rosario to pastor an English Ministry called Love, Power and Grace in Pembroke Pines, Florida.

Melissa has this unswerving Love for the Lord and for her ministry. She is an inspiration to lots of women including myself. I pray that you may be inspired as she shares with us what God has placed in her heart.

“A wise woman builds her home, but a foolish one tears
it down with her own hands.”
Proverbs 14:1

If this verse convicts you, it’s time to listen up!

We as woman have a power that we sometimes take advantage of. We may not even be aware that we have this power, or that we have such an impact.

We have the power to build up or tear down our own house. We can try to blame others for the demise of our home or the fact that it is not “running” the way it should be, but the truth is, we need to seek wisdom. We need to seek that wisdom that only God can provide us with, so that we may be able to build up our homes and be a blessing to those in it.

Wow, I don’t know about you, but I sure want to be that wise woman! The more I meditate on the verse, the more eager I become to seek God daily for that wisdom. Don’t you?

How do you seek Gods wisdom? In HIS WORD!

Yes, all the answers are right there. People say “kids, don’t come with a manual”, but the reality is that they do, THE BIBLE!! The word of God has all of the instructions we need for every area of life, we just have to dig in.

"The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom.
Though it cost all you have, get understanding.
Cherish her, and she will exalt you;
embrace her, and she will honor you.
She will give you a garland to grace your head
and present you with a glorious crown.”
Proverbs 4: 7-9

The cool thing is, since God knows that we as humans need more help and explanation, He blesses people with the gift of teaching His word and how to help us find those answers.

Now, this is one moment where you need to use wisdom and discernment; you can’t believe everything you read or hear just because someone states “the Bible says”. You must look for yourself and confirm if it really says that.

Question, when you're having  problems in your marriage, who do you go to for help?

Do you go to your single friend who has never been married and has no relationship with God; or do you go to a married friend, who is grounded in the word of God and is likely to give you wise biblical counsel?

Would you pick up a book called “OH No He Didn't! You Deserve Better Than That No Good, Lazy, Selfish Man!!!”, or would you reach for the book called “God healed My Marriage, He Can Heal Yours Too.”?

Ladies, be very careful whose advice you listen to. How would you know what's good advice? A good tool of discernment would be, if it feeds your ego, it’s probably not a word from the Lord; but if convicts you, Well, there He is talking to you and showing you the path He wants you to take. The advice given should always be aligned with Gods word.

Titus 2 talks about promoting right teaching:

“Similarly, teach the older women to live in a way that honors God. They must not slander others or be heavy drinkers. Instead, they should teach others what is good. These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands...”

God actually gives older women that are experienced and following His word instructions on how to help younger women. But He doesn't stop there; He also gives women instructions on what kind of woman they should be seeking out for instruction, help and or counsel.

My Titus 2 Woman
my mother-in-law
Graciela

Do you know a Titus 2 woman? Do you seek her out in your time of need?

We all need someone like that in our lives. It is a great blessing. If you don’t have someone like that, pray and ask the Lord to reveal her to you or to send her to you. Please keep in mind, that God states in verse 3 “they must not slander others…” in other words, GOSSIP.

God protects us by telling us that the Titus 2 women should not slander others. When in doubt, a good rule of thumb to follow is, if she is gossiping about someone to you, she is probably gossiping to someone about you.

Pray and ask God to send you a wise woman who will lead you to His word, teach you and help you. Seek His word for wisdom, so that you may become the wise woman He speaks of in Proverbs 14:1.

Remember, you have the power to build up your home or tear it down
with your own hands.

Seek to be wise and not foolish.

God Bless,

Melissa
