Purity

How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word.
Psalms 119:9

Every where we look we find sexual images and pornography; our youth are drowning in a sea of sexual attractions. In today's world everything is at our finger tips, with just one click your son or daughter can unintentionally view images of naked men and women; having piqued their curiosity at such a young age that would most likely lead them to a life of sexual immorality.   So, my question to you is,

What can we do as parents to help our children live a life of purity?

We as parents have a responsibility before God to watch over our kids. We need to monitor them while they are on the computer, set up parental blocks, check their phones and text messages. In other words: We need it make it our business to be all up in our kids business.

How do we stay pure in a contaminating world?

Our kids cannot do this on their own. We need something more dynamic than the tantalizing influences around them to keep them from falling into a sadistic life.

"I have hidden Your Word in my heart, that I might not sin against you."           -Psalms 119:11

Hiding God's word in our hearts is a deterrent to sin. Parents, we need to instill, inject, embed, God's word into our kids heart and mind! Teach them what the Word says about living a life of purity. Tell them what God says about sexual immorality. Encourage them to memorize scripture and reiterate that reading God's Word, the bible, and allowing it to work in their lives is the only sure guide to living a pure life.

May our children be an example to all believers in what they say, in the way they live, in love, in faith and in purity.
